Lack of decent, affordable housing forces low-income families to live in substandard rental conditions, often in dangerous neighborhoods. Typically, these families pay too great a percentage of their income for rent, leaving little money for nutrition, health care, transportation, and education and these are the areas where Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County works.
Through affordable home construction for low-income families, they aim to eliminate poverty housing and the social and economic blight it fosters. Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County helps qualified Greenville County residents move from unhealthy, unsafe living situations into decent family-owned homes in safe neighborhoods.
Habitat for Humanity of Greenville County has an open-door policy. All who believe that everyone needs a decent, affordable place to live are welcome to help with the work, regardless of race, religion, age, gender, political views or any other distinction. In short, Habitat welcomes volunteers and supporters from all backgrounds and also serves people in need of decent housing regardless of race or religion. As a matter of policy, Habitat for Humanity International and its affiliated organizations do not proselytize. This means that Habitat will not offer services on the expressed or implied condition that people must adhere to or convert to a particular faith, or listen and respond to messaging designed to induce conversion to a particular faith.
I worked with Shivaji. They could not have been better. The work was impeccable and so was the communication. I will work with them any time I can. Hands down the best workers I’ve ever worked with guru before that.
